3.4 billion people have no mobile internet. When disaster strikes, that number grows as infrastructure collapses. WhatsApp, apps, and websites all go dark.

Following a disaster, the questions survivors ask are urgent and practical: where is clean water, where is the doctor, where can I get a tent, how do I find my missing family? MessageStack-SMS answers those questions over SMS, using AI to provide access to the latest information and nearest relevant services.

  • Works on any phone. No smartphone, no app, no data connection needed.
  • AI-powered responses. Understands natural language questions and responds with nearby, relevant services.
  • Location-aware. Tell us where you are and we find the closest shelter, clinic, water point, or relief camp.
  • Deploys in hours. Content managed through a Content Management System.

The questions people actually ask

We used the 2022 Pakistan floods to identify the most common questions survivors ask aid agencies. These are what MessageStack is built to answer.

"Where is the clean water?" Floodwater contaminated drinking supplies. Cholera and dysentery began killing survivors within days.
"My child has a fever; where is the doctor?" Stagnant water bred malaria and dengue. Children weakened by malnutrition needed immediate medical help.
"When will we get a tent?" Millions slept on elevated road strips or under open skies. Shelter meant a plastic sheet against the sun and rain.
"I cannot find my daughter" Communication lines went down and bridges washed away. Missing family members caused as much distress as the water itself.
"Is there a safe place for the women?" The lack of private latrines and segregated spaces was a crisis of dignity for women and girls.
"I lost my ID card. Can I still get the cash?" Government cash aid required documentation. Losing your papers in the mud meant losing your path to financial recovery.

One platform for every conversation your organisation needs

Disaster relief is where we started. But the same AI messaging infrastructure works across the full range of non-profit communications. We're building MessageStack to handle all of it.

Crisis and disaster response

Built on real scenarios from the 2022 Pakistan floods. Clean water locations, medical services, shelter, missing persons, safety updates. All delivered over SMS to any phone, in any language.

On the roadmap

Built for non-profits from the ground up

Most messaging platforms are built for e-commerce or enterprise sales teams, then awkwardly repurposed for the charity sector. MessageStack is different. We're building specifically for non-profit use cases, budgets, and constraints.

Multi-channel

SMS, WhatsApp, web chat, and voice from a single platform. Meet people on whatever channel they have.

AI that stays on topic

Conversational AI grounded in your organisation's knowledge base. No hallucinations, no off-topic responses.

Works at the edges

Designed for low-connectivity environments. SMS-first architecture that degrades gracefully when data isn't available.

Non-profit pricing

We're not going to charge you enterprise SaaS rates. Pricing that reflects the sector you're in and the work you do.

Built by engineers who've delivered critical services at scale

MessageStack is founded by engineers with experience delivering NHS COVID Pass, Cabinet Office digital programmes, and large-scale charity platforms serving millions. We understand what it takes to build technology that works under pressure, for the people who depend on it.

We believe the non-profit sector deserves the same quality of technology that commercial companies take for granted, built around the problems that actually matter.

We're building in the open.

If you're a charity, humanitarian organisation, or non-profit that wants better messaging, we'd love to hear from you. Early partners get to shape the product.
